Sunday Social

Sunday Social

Happy Sunday!!! We've got some more childhood questions again this week. Here we go!

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?
I miss just being carefree and not having any real worries. Kids never have to worry about finances, vehicles, cooking, fixing up the house, nothing! I hate that I wanted to be an adult so bad and now I wish I could go back to watching Saturday morning cartoons and playing outside with no worries of anything bad happening.

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?
Hmmm, I don't really think I did. My full name is Victoria, so usually family called me Vicki or Vick. My mom used to call me Vicki-Poo. :)

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?
I honestly don't really remember. I do remember when we were on the little kids side of the Elementary school, we used to play in these cement tunnel things. They are long gone now. What a shame!

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I really wanted to be a teacher or just a Mommy.

5. Did you participate in any school activities?
I was in band from 5th grade to my senior year. I played the flute and then started playing the oboe from 9th on. I was also a cheerleader my senior year.

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?
Well, I don't think it's too funny, but when I was 4 or 5, I was playing with a kernel of Indian corn and for some GRAND reason, I decided to stick it in my nose. I was crying so bad and so my parents rushed me to the Dr. and he removed it with tweezers. I'm a genius, I know. Kahle thinks this story is hilarious and he loves to tell it like he was there. Crazy kid!

Sunday Social

Linking up again for Sunday Social!

Sunday Social

1. What is something you’ve always wanted to do but are afraid of?
I would have to say, learn how to swim. I never learned how and I still want to, but I am terrified that I won't be able to. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's true.

2. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully married, possibly another kid and maybe being a stay at home Mom. We'll see!!

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2013?
Going to the Omaha zoo. (Should be next weekend) And hopefully getting a start on some house remodeling.

4. What are your hopes for your blog?
To finally figure out what I'm trying to do! Haha!! I hope to be posting more often, I've been trying.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?

As long as my kids are in school, yes. Maybe after they graduate, we can think of moving somewhere else. Then again, you never know.

6. What is your morning routine?
Hitting the snooze button 300 times, getting up, agonizing over what to wear, throwing on some makeup and pretending I know how to do hair. Then, attempt to wake up my children. I usually have to tell Kahle 20 times to get up and then I dress Izzie while she's still asleep practically. What can I say, we aren't morning people around here!

29!!

(This was supposed to be published yesterday. My scheduler didn't work. Boo.)

Can I seriously be that old???? 29 is just so close to 30. Some days I don't feel that old and other days I'm pretty sure I'm closer to 40! I'm not really sure why I am freaking out about 29. I still have so much life to live. I'm sure I'll get over it soon enough. Hey, It's my birthday and I can cry if I want to, right?

One cool thing about my birthday, I share it with several people!!There's my (ex)Step-Mom Tracy, my co-worker Kathy, and 2 of my friends' daughters are today too!! How crazy is that? It's kind of fun to share my birthday with so many fabulous ladies. :)

Tonight we go to open house for Kahle at school. I really like that they do this now, they never did it when I was in school. Everyone goes the first night, you find your classroom, meet your teacher and put all your supplies in your desk. I think it makes the first day so much easier and it's nice for the parents to meet the teacher before Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Tim has plans this weekend for me. He's having Mom watch the kids. I think he plans on making me dinner which is wonderful!! The last time he cooked for me, he made chocolate covered strawberries!! Yum!!! He also had candles and rose petals. He can be very sweet when he wants to be. ;)

Well, I guess that's all for now. I hope everyone has a great day and I hope to not cry too much.

Sunday Social

I'm linking up for the Sunday Social for the first time ever! I haven't been able to get too creative when it comes to blog posts, so I thought this would be a good idea and give me something to talk about.

Sunday Social

1. When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?

I really really wanted to be a teacher. And if I ever get the chance to go back to school, that is what I would still want to do.

2. What was your favorite way to kill time as a kid?

I really enjoyed reading and guess what? I still do! I wish I had/made more time for reading now. And I'm proud to say that my kids really enjoy books as well.

3. When did you get your first cell phone?

Let's see. I think I must have been 19 or 20.....I remember Kahle was a little over the age of 1.  Kahle already has one and he's 10! He's actually had one since he was 6 but since his Dad and I are no longer in the same town, I felt it was necessary in case he needs to talk to me.

4. What is your favorite magazine to read?

I have several favorites. I'm actually a magazine hoarder and I never hardly have time to read them anymore. I like Cosmo and Glamour but also Family Fun and Redbook.

5. What is the one random object people would be surprised to find in your purse?

Hmm, let me look.......there's nothing really strange in there except for a menu from The Salty Dog Restaurant in Liberal, Kansas.  We stopped there on our way home from Texas and I brought it back since my boss requested a menu from anywhere we ate.

P.S. I lied about recapping my trip to Texas and now my internet isn't working so well today. I will try to do it as soon as possible.

Where have I been?

It feels like it's been so long since I last wrote, and yeah, it has been. It's mostly because we took a week long vacation to Texas. It was such a wonderful trip and I plan on writing a recap and putting up some pictures this weekend when I finally feel settled at home. It was so incredible getting to see family I haven't seen in years and meeting new family that we have recently discovered. It was also, so so so amazing that the instant we met, it was like we had known each other forever and I am so incredibly thankful to have them in our life now.

I am so very far behind on blog reading so I've been trying to catch up on that too. Kahle starts school next Wednesday!! I still can't believe he's going to be in 5th grade. It's his last year in Elementary!! Holy cow! How does that happen? I can't hardly believe I'll be 29 on Tuesday either! How old I feel. :)

Well, I just thought I would pop-in for a moment, I better get back to blog reading and laundry!
