I would say they are pretty spot on. I am not the impulsive type and I do try to look at things from every perspective.

I guess I'm boring and don't have too much to say about this. I was really surprised how exact it seemed to be.





I hope everyone had a great weekend. Kahle was at his dad's, Tim worked and Izzie and I enjoyed the quiet house. We did go to a pumpkin patch Saturday with Mom though. Socializing on a Sunday

It's time for Sunday Social!!

1. What is your favorite fall activity?
My favorite fall activity is going to pumpkin patches with my kids. I love to buy lots of yummy food, pumpkins and lots of decorations for Halloween. Also, we haven't been in a couple of years, but we love to go to haunted houses!!

2. Do you follow a football team? If so, which one and why?
My name is Vicki and I do NOT watch football. I know, I'm a pathetic excuse for a Nebraskan. It's sad but true. I don't understand it and I don't want to.  If I HAVE to pick a team, it would be our local hometown Huskies. Of course I root for them!

3. What is something fun about fall in your area?
Hmm, I don't really know. Just pumpkin patches I guess. I can't think of anything that is specific to our area.

4. What are your favorite fall staple outfits?
I love sweaters, leggings or jeans and boots! Then again, which girl doesn't?

5. What things are you looking forward to most about this coming fall season?
I am ready for apple cider, pumpkin everything, cooler weather, boots, sweaters, pretty fall leaves. Just everything!!

6. What is your favorite fall holiday? Tradition?
It's a tie between Halloween and Thanksgiving. We always take the kids to a pumpkin patch and trick-or-treating.  And I am craving Thanksgiving food already, I'm so ready for it. For traditions, I am into cooking Thanksgiving at home and inviting Mom over. 

I enjoyed this weeks questions, and I'm sure ready for fall, but I tell you, almost 100 degree weather is not fall like at all! It looks like it should be mid-70's by the end of the week and I can't wait! I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

A Time I was Afraid

Today's topic for Blogtember is to write about a time I was afraid.

The time that first pops in my head was when Kahle was born.

Of course, I was scared to be in labor the first time and he was 2 weeks early. The labor was actually incredibly easy. My water broke around 4:30 am and he was born at 6:37 am! I know, I was incredibly lucky. It was NOT so easy with Izzie.

 Anyways, back to being scared. Ok, like I said, he was 2 weeks early and weighed a whopping 5 pounds 5 ounces and he wouldn't eat. He dropped down under 5 pounds, they were tube feeding him through his nose and pricking his feet to test his blood sugar. His poor little heels were so so bruised.  His Dad ran home to eat or something and I was there alone and he Dr. came in. They told me if he became any more lethargic they would have to take him to Lincoln (where they have neo-natal Drs.) Talk about being freaked out! I was a new, young mother, sitting alone in my room and you're talking about taking my baby!! Luckily, that never happened and we left the next day.

He weighed 4 pounds 13 ounces. I guess they usually don't send babies home when they are under 5 pounds but we went home and he's a perfectly normal 10 year old now.

Well, a little strange at times, but you know what I mean! ;)

Useful advice

Useful advice? From me? I'm not sure I really have any except for the Golden Rule......

That is by far the best piece of advice I know.  I definitely try to make my kids abide by this.

No work for a 3 of months..............

Seriously? I really wish I didn't have to work for 3 months and could do WHAT-ever I want.  I definitely think I would travel. I would take 1 month for each place I wanted to go.

First up......SEATTLE!!

It's been my dream to travel to Seattle. First of all, I am obsessed with Grey's Anatomy, now I know there is no Seattle Grace/Mercy West. But it doesn't matter. I almost watch Grey's just so I can see the scenery. Second of all, I LOVE the rain!!!! I am the most happy when it's raining. I may be a little strange, but didn't we already know that? :)  I know there is so much more to Seattle than rain though and I want to see EVERYTHING!

So, anyone who wants me to come visit them in Seattle. Let me know!

Next is.........ITALY!!

I would love to see anything and everything in Italy. I mean, look at those pictures! What's not to love??? Extremely gorgeous!


The last month of my extended travel vacation I would love to travel to somewhere quiet and next to the ocean. South Carolina is what pops into my head. I love to read and I have it in my mind that if I was on a huge deck, in South Carolina, next to the beach, I would get some great reading in. Not sure why I feel that way, it's just how it's always been for me.

Where did I come from?

This is a day late, but I did have it started.  I'm linking up with Jenni for Blogtember.







I don't know how deep I really want to get with this.

I come from a small town in Nebraska. I moved away when I was 15 and now I'm back in that same small town and I love it. I don't ever think I can live in a big city. It's just not for me.

I also come from difficult family times. I grew up with my single mom, who took care of my little sister and I while working and going back to school to become a Paralegal. I am so proud of her for accomplishing that! My dad on the other hand, that's where the difficulty comes in. He's an addict and alcoholic and has always put Alli and I on the back burner. In fact, he still does.  Let's just say, I've learned how to be a good parent by doing EVERYTHING he doesn't do. I still talk to him, but I really don't know why.

After my parents got divorced, my dad remarried (and now divorced) my step-mom. She has 3 kids.  . I am still close to them and can't imagine what kind of person I would be without them. We didn't always get along but I'm glad they were part of my life.

My Dad's family, are the nicest people ever. After living with my Dad and not going to very many family things, I'm trying hard to build my relationship with them again.

My Mom's family, is such a long story. My Mom's Mother (my grandmother) vanished 30 years ago. I never met her. There is one Aunt and one Uncle that I have never met, as well as several cousins. That makes me really sad. I do interact with them on Facebook sometimes. Recently, we have discovered my grandmother's biological family and I met them in Texas!!  It was such an instant family attraction!! I feel like we have known them forever. It was absolutely amazing.

I come from a lot of feelings. Happy times and some very very unhappy, heart wrenching times.  I'm still learning and trying to make my way.

What happened to summer???

Seriously?  How can it be September already? I miss the days when I had summer vacation. :(

1. What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?

My favorite vacation this summer was my only vacation. We went down to Texas to visit family. (I promise, re-cap coming soon!!)

2. What was your favorite outfit look/clothing item of the summer?

I'm not a fashionable person, but my favorite look this summer has been lots and lots of dresses. Great for work or play and keep me nice and cool. I picked up some super cute ones at Old Navy.

3. What is one thing you wish you’d gotten to do this summer?

I wish we had went to the zoo. I'm still hoping we can go, but it's been so hectic that I'm not sure when.

4. What was your favorite song of the summer?

Favorite song? I really like Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, but I'm pretty much over that song now since it gets played on our local radio station every 15 minutes. And after the VMA disaster, I'm through with it! I'm still pretty much obsessed with everything by 10 Years right now and (hopefully) plan on seeing them at the end of September!

5. What was your favorite movie/tv show of the summer?

5. Big Brother is on right now and that's always my summer obsession. I haven't really watched any new movies this summer. :(
